The Artist's Struggle by SilverHopeXIII The Artist's Struggle by SilverHopeXIII
This mini-comic is dedicated to all the artists out there having a hard time with art.

We all struggle so much with how to make good art,
that we sometimes forget that the most important, is to have fun while creating something...

So remember to all have a little fun when you do art, and also NEVER quit doing what you love.:) (Smile)

I enjoy the stuff I make but the lack of feedback, as in comments, makes me think people don't even care.
They just jump in, fave and run off. Not once someone has left a comment saying "Hey ya should work on this or that cuz it looks off."
I know it's probably just me but the all the faves and no comments demotivate me, which makes me produce less art or, shit, anything.

Yeah, i know the feeling, i had that when i began on DA.

Truth is that there is a lot of very talented artists here, but also a lot of them are sometimes underrated,
because of the lack of feedback, (constructive)criticism and such.

That why i think we should look out for those artists, they definitely deserve some love on this website.

Yeah I tend to leave comments more that fave artwork because I feel comments should be the main feedback.

And yeah I've been posting stuff on DA for 6 years I have a second profile that's suffered the same thing more than this one.

At least you think of using your comments as a feedback, that a good thing.

It would be nice if more people would take the time to do the same, but then again everyone can support an artist,
the way they think is the best.

And of course i'm not judging if someone doesn't want to comment on something me or someone else made,
as long you want to support something you like, i guess it's alright in my opinion.

Well, yes, people can do what they want but i'd preffer comments more. Because when I ask if something's wrong with a pic or if they see something wrong I usually don't get no response.
But in a rare case somebody replies, mostly about the grammar.

Well, i see how that could be irritating at some degree, maybe try the forums and request some critiques on it,
or maybe even some of the specialized groups that can give a proper feedback.

I'm sorry if i don't really know how to fully help you on this, but i hope it can give you a start anyway.

Good luck...:) (Smile)

Trivia:  The name of the company Asus really is based on 'pegasus'.  The owner/founder really liked the pegasus from Greek mythology, so he took the end of the word and named his company Asus.  Later when he spun off the manufacturing branch of Asus into a separate company, he named it Pegatron.

Oh, that's cool!  I never noticed that before. "ASUS takes its name from Pegasus, the winged horse in Greek mythology that symbolizes wisdom and knowledge."  www.asus.com/About_ASUS/The-Me… Thanks for pointing that out.

I know the feeling. Except it's writing in my case. Happened to me sometimes that ideas were not coming. So what is good is taking a walk outside, move, making the blood flows. It helps. A lot of ideas can come up while doing something else or simply working.

I can relate, but I don't think I've ever really been bothered for art for the most part. I do wish I drew more frequently and put out more content though lol.

Yep, I think everyone feels like this about their craft sometimes, not just artists. But we all struggle through it eventually.

Exactly, struggling is part of the process of progressing in your domain.

We all need to learn to overcome those obstacles, to be able to become better and better indefinitly.

Nice work! Hehe, I guess all artists have been there at one point or another. It always amazes me how you people are able to push through that and how you got over the initial "crappy art" phase - assuming everyone had that when they started.
Keep up the great work!

God, I can relate... I've been finding myself in what I call 'Creativity Deadlock'. It's not like I'm drained of ideas, I'm still flowing... I just don't have the urge to actually make anything. Do you ever get that? Where you just sit down, teeming with idea, you grab your pencil and paper (or stylus-pen and tablet for digital art) and just... don't feel like doing anything? You just stare, for an hour, thinking, "I really should make something. In another minute", until you get bored and leave, only to repeat the cycle?

Personally, this makes me feel less guilty about having those moments, so I'm definitely favouriting it.

Oh yeah, i get that kind of situation a lot, so when my motivation is like dead,
i go watch some videos or listen to music to get myself pumped, but at least i still have ideas for later, so that a win in my book.

That's good.

...so, erm, let's say that hypothetically, a certain guy is in that state of Creativity Deadlock and he's tried watching some videos, from his favourite YouTube channels that usually get him chuckling to his favourite films of all time, and concluding it with his favourite songs... and still doesn't have it in him? What do you think that certain fellow, hypothetically, should do?

Hummm, it can depend, since people deal with that kind of situation differently.

I would say there is a lot of way you can remotivate yourself, like going for walk or playing some games or even read a book,
but like i said since people works differently from one and another, i don't precisely know what can get someone to remotivate perfectly.

I hope it can answer what you were looking for.:) (Smile)
